  3. Thinking about GCSE ICT ? Why Study Information & Communication Technology ? The world is becoming increasingly dominated by the use of ICT systems. These influence every aspect of our everyday lives. The study of ICT will help provide you with the ANALYTICAL(thinking),COMMUNICATION(writing, talking, giving presentations) and TECHNICAL skills(using a computer at a high level) that you will need to compete as as active participant in this exciting and dynamic world.

  4. Thinking about GCSE ICT ? Why Study Information & Communication Technology ? The ICT GCSE course will also provide you with an essential foundation for any further courses including those specific to the use of computers and new technology such as A level, AS level, and many vocational and occupational courses.

  6. Thinking about GCSE ICT ? You will study: * How ICT is used for work and leisure; * The positive and negative effects of ICT on society; * How to design and use ICT systems; * Hardware, software and communication networks.

You will learn to build on the skills you have already: *Using software such as word processors, databases, spreadsheets, DTP, presentational software, INTERNET etc You will also learn about: * The practical design of ICT systems; * Key skills in numeracy, communication and ICT; * Applying ICT to real life situations to solve problems; * Using ICT to research, acquire, manipulate and present information.

  10. Thinking about GCSE ICT ? Assessment: This course consists of FOUR modules: Modules 2 and 4 are based on coursework Modules 1 and 3 are written examinations There are two levels of entry for the examination papers: Foundation and Higher.

  11. Thinking about GCSE ICT ? Assessment: The coursework (3 projects) counts for Of your GCSE grade The exams (2 papers) counts for Of your GCSE grade 60% 40% Two coursework tasks are completed in year 10 and one in year 11 All ICT lessons are in a COMPUTER ROOM
