  2. and the Spirit hovered and broodedand whispered"Let there be life and God said In the beginning, the universe was dark and cold – "Let there be light"

  3. And there was light and life throughout the universe And God saw all that he had done, and indeed it was very good.

  4. And into this world of goodness and light, there came the darkness of sin Sloth Pride Gluttony Anger Lust Greed Envy

  5. The human race was exhausted, tired and weary, Into that darkness you came, To be the light for the world In the darkness of anxiety, confusion and sin

  6. The people who have walked in darkness have seen a great light; On those who lived in a land of darkness – on them the light has shone. Isaiah 9:2

  7. Once again it is dark. Dark with doubt Dark with fear and uncertainty Dark with confusing and conflicting voices in our ears Not just dark at midnight, but dark in ourselves And in our world

  8. Crime Violence Pollution Hatred War Prejudice Injustice Poverty Global warming

  9. Come light of life, Lighten the darkness in our lives and our world with your mighty world of love

  10. Lighten our hearts with the joy of your promised coming

  11. Lighten our world with the hope that faith in you still brings
