  2. Definitions: Conformed: Syschematizomai An expanded rendering might read, "Stop being molded by the external and fleeting fashions of this age, but undergo a deep inner change [metamorphoús] by the qualitative renewing [anakainœ¡sei] of your mind.” (The Complete Word Study Dictionary)

  3. Definitions: Transformed: Metamorphoús “to become, to change, to be changed into, to be transformed. …but be transformed by the renewing of your thinking Rom 12:2. …become completely different or become different from what you are.” (Greek-English Lexicon Based on Semantic Domain).

  4. The Transition: Full Consecration To God. 12:1-2 “Transformed.” (cf. Rom. 6:4-7) Basis of consecration is a total transformation of character, a radical change. • This radical change involves a turning from and a turning toward, a putting off and a putting on. See. 1 Cor. 7:31; Eph. 2:2ff; Col. 3:1ff. a. The former conduct grew out of ignorance. Eph. 2:2; cf. 4:17; 1 Pet. 1:14, 15 b. Paul instructs us to stop being molded by "this present evil world" (Gal. 1:4).

  5. The Transition: Full Consecration To God. 12:1-2 We are to be "changed" into the image of the Lord. (2 Cor. 3:18; 4:16) • This radical change can be accomplished only "by the renewal of the mind." ( Cf. 2 Cor. 10:5; Eph. 4:23-24; cf. 2 Cor. 4:16 “day by day”) a. This demands study of the Scriptures (cf. Tit. 2:11-12). This change of heart or mind of man does not come quickly. Cf. Mt. 28:19
