A Helpful Growth Analogy Well-Child Visits Height & Weight Measurements compared against standards—usually presented in Percentiles 3 month-old at 15 pounds is at the 90th Percentile in weight Child is compared to thousands of other 3 month-olds to gauge growth Student Growth Percentiles does the same thing—compares a child’s score to other children who had the same score. It plots a trajectory of how much those children scored.

  6. The Cholesterol Scale • The change in the cholesterol scale made caused a significant increase in people taking cholesterol medicine. • One Dr. visit, tests were normal; the next, medicine was prescribed.
