Campus Computer Lab Choices From a campus computer lab : click ‘Find Articles’ … OR … from wi-fi, your dorm room data drop, or an off-campus location : click ‘Off-Campus Access’ Log in with your IWC username and password Off-Campus has same choices, but all in one list (use paragraph near top of page as a guide to find a useful database).

After clicking ‘Thesaurus’ on the opening screen, type in the term or phrase you want to find the controlled vocabulary for Click ‘Find’ Note the ‘notes’ icon If a term or phrase appears, check the notes icon and perhaps find some related terms that will help your search Check mark some of those related terms as well as the box in front of the controlled vocabulary term/phrase you found Once you have marked the terms/phrases you want to add to the search, then COMBINE them with a Boolean connector: AND or ORor NOT Then click ‘Add to search’

  3. To find a useful article: • Read the article title • Open Preview • Read the Abstract • View the list of Subjects attached to the record • If you keep the article, find the Cite link and click to select the citation style your professor recommends (MLA, APA, Chicago/Turabian, AMA)
