  2. Difference between Lecturer and Teacher The aim of teaching and lecturing is common that is educating the students. The field of educating students with the help of these mediums is respected all over the world. Although both these professions are quite similar there are some distinct differences between teacher and lecturer.

  3. Where Do They Work? 1 • The duty of a Teacher is to teach the students in school. So, the teacher is a person who teaches the children in school. Teachers have to deal with primary and secondary education levels. • Lecturer works in colleges and institutes. The main task of a lecturer is teaching and researching. The students of bachelor’s and master’s degree levels are taught by lecturers.

  4. Career Growth 2 • A Teacher can be progressed on senior posts like Head Teacher, Counsellor, Vice-Principal or Principal. • A Lecturer can be progressed on senior levels like Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and then Professor.

  5. Eligibility 3 • To become a Teacher in schools, a candidate must have to clear the bachelor’s degree with B.Ed certificate. It is mandatory to have this certificate to teach. • To become a Lecturer, you can apply for the UGC NET Exam which is a National Level Test to check the eligibility for the lectureship.

Roles & Responsibilities 4 Teacher: • Teaching the students for a particular subject. • Supporting and assisting the students who are struggling to learn. • To ensure that students are equipped to take tests. • Supporting school related to administrative work. • Contacting the parents of students regarding their progress.

  7. Roles & Responsibilities 4 Lecturer: • To advise the students about their coursework and guiding them for the progression in the subject. • Research work on their selected subject area and publishing academic materials. • To collaborate with other lecturers of college for any updates in curriculum content. • To work with the educational institution on administrative matters.
