  2. Prefixes: re-, un- • A prefix is a word part added to the beginning of a word that changes the meaning of the word. • The prefix re- means again. • The prefix un- means not. For example: refill- unhappy- to fill again not happy

  3. unfold (not folded, to unroll or spread out) The next step is to unfold the paper.

  4. rejoin (to join again) Their coach said they could rejoin the game after they rested for a few minutes.

  5. untie (not tied, to loosen or free) The puppy was trying to untie the boy’s shoe.

  6. reheat (to heat again) She wanted to reheat her leftovers from dinner for her lunch the next day.

  7. unfair (not fair) The bigger fish thought it was unfair that he had the smaller bowl!

  8. unclear (not clear) The picture was unclear and I couldn’t tell who was in it. The sign made it unclear which way I should go.

  9. repaid (to pay again or to pay back) He repaid the money he had borrowed.

  10. rewrite (to write again) He will have to rewrite his report after he makes all of the corrections it needs.

  11. unhurt (not hurt) The police couldn’t believe that everyone on the plane walked away unhurt from the crash.

  12. recheck (to check again) My dog will get to come home today, but the doctor will need to recheck her in a week.

  13. unlucky (not lucky) It was an unlucky day for this tree!

  14. unwrap(not wrapped, to remove the wrapping) Unwrap the sandwich and enjoy!

  15. reuse (to use again) You can help the environment by putting your groceries in bags you can reuse.

  16. unsure (not sure) The baby lemur was unsure if the pear was something good to eat.
