  2. Mise-en-Scene In the introduction, all different types of animals were shown to introduce to the audience what the documentary was about. Shots of forest and rivers- this illustrates the animals environment in which they live in so it sets the scene. In the first five minutes of analysis the documentary was about Monkeys at all ages and how they live.

  3. Camera Work Establishing Shot of West Africa- sets the scene Point of View shot- the audience see’s what it is like from the monkeys point of view living in the wild Low Angle Shot- looking up at the older gorilla, reflects he is more wise and doesn’t play with the younger monkeys he just observes Camera shot from the floor following the Monkeys footsteps- this builds tension as music is added that helps create this atmosphere Close up on monkey- shows every detail.

  4. Graphics Title- ‘Life Story’ with the BBC logo underneath and a shot of the environment in West Africa behind the Graphics to set the scene and create the wild animal aroma. BBC logo consistently in the corner- copy right 1 word describing what the documentary is about- ‘Power’ in the animals in white against a bold black background which contrast each other making this simple but effect. Subtitles- in the bottom left corner about narrator.

  5. Editing • Slow motion; • Jaguars hunting- showing the scratching and biting in detail to the viewers • Kangaroos fighting- showing when the movement in detail when they kick each other • Monkeys hunting/fighting in water- the water movement reflects the aggressive fast pace fight and anger • Fade out after the title of the documentary- shows the documentary is beginning.
