MEAN definition: the average of a set of data steps 1 add numbers 2 count numbers 3 divide the number of numbers by the sum of all numbers example: 15+47+6+48+69+11=196/6=32.7 mean is used for many different ways like at school. when we take a test we have to have a class average we do the exact same thing as we did above.

  3. MEDIAN definition: the middle number of a set of data steps 1. put numbers in order 2. mark numbers from start to end 3. if there are two numbers left add the numbers together and divide by 2

  4. MODE definition: the number that appears most in a set of data steps 1.put in order 2.look and see which number has the most ! there sometimes will be more than one mode! you would use this in life when doing test scores to see which ones grades has the most

  5. RANGE definition: the smallest number and largest number in a set if data steps 1. put in order 2. take the first and last number and subtract them example what is the range below out of the three exam. 99 99-65=34
