  3. Running Start Works together with the Leap Frog strategy. After finishing the sentence, go back to the beginning of the sentence and read it again with a little more fluency. The more fluently you read the easier it will be to discover contextual clues to the unknown word.

  5. Puzzle Look closely at the unknown word and try to find smaller words or word parts that you know how to read, and then put these parts together. You may use your finger to cover up parts of the word to assist you in seeing the smaller parts.
