Ivy League Universities: • An Ivy league is an athletic conference comprising eight a private institution of higher education located in the North U.S • Earliest American Institutions founded. • The 8 Ivy leagues are Brown, Colombia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Princeton, and Yale. • A 1300 or better on the SAT. • A minimum 3.75 g.p.a. although many applicants have a 4.0 • Leadership experience and extra-curricular activities • Well written essay that provides a look at your accomplishments, character, personality, and career goals. • Strong letters of recommendation.

Yale University: • Yale’s three major academic components are Yale college (the undergraduate program), the graduate school of arts and sciences, and the professional schools. • The Most popular majors are Social sciences: 25%, History:12%, Interdisciplinary Studies:10%, Biology:9%, English:7%, Visual and Performing arts:7%, Area and Ethnic studies:7%, and Psychology:5% • What makes Yale unique is that it has possibility, familiarity, availability, and belonging. • Yale is the #3 school in America

Harvard in 1636,Yale in 1701, Pennsylvania in 1740, Princeton in 1746, Colombia in 1754, Brown in 1764, Dartmouth in 1769, and Cornell in 1865. • The term ‘Ivy League’ was conceived in the 1930s by Stanley Woodward. • Yale was named in the year 1718 by a merchant named ElihuYale. • The application deadline is June 8for fees and June 15 for application. • You should visit Yale when the students are in session and attending class.

Why? • You should choose any Ivy League because they are great schools, with high academic standards that prepare you to choose the right major that leads you to success. • You should visit Yale because by visiting it’s campus you can see what Yale is like and the type of classes they have including other programs available. • Also by visiting Yale you can see if you like it or not. The more colleges you visit the more options you will have.

  8. How? • To get accepted to Yale you need to apply directly at the school, or program where the degree will be awarded. You need to have ability to do successful work. A minimum of 3.7 but most students at Yale have 4.0. High SAT and ACT test scores, extra-curricular activities. Diversity of interest, background and specific talents. Present high degree of accomplishment in one or more nonacademic areas. • 9% of applicants are accepted. • There are 35 sports at Yale. • There are 5,247 undergraduates, 6,169 graduates and professionals at Yale. • 1,872 international students, and 1,920 international scholars at Yale. • Yale costs about 47,00 a year. • The application costs $75. • Enrollment is 10,192
