  3. Purpose • One and only one nationally expanding online database of Emergency Medical Services • A central location for EMS and public safety organizations in any county, state or region • A tool for creating printed directories of all available EMS organizations for any number of counties

  4. Goals • Extend current functionality • Enhance system usability • Improve our process for developing software • Develop a system for deployment

  6. Process Improvements • Re-aligned schedule based on risks • Re-negotiation of high priority features • Fewer releases • Allowed for higher quality software to be released • Less duplicate testing • Feature Driven Process Model • Modified version of Scrum

  7. Testing • Testing occurred for two weeks before deployment. • Sponsors were given test environment to experiment with • Test plan developed to address major aspects of system • Bug fixes performed during non-peak usage hours

  10. System Improvement • Main focus for second semester was on InDesign simplification • Working system along with survey provided many suggestion for improvement • STEP conference provided an invaluable opportunity to do usability studies

  11. New & Enhanced Features • Enhanced Survey System • Bulk Auto-Formatting of user entries • Added an advertisement management system • Streamlined PDF conversion process significantly • Simplified admitting physician process • One step registration process

  13. Current Status • Some features were removed due either low importance and/or high risk • Testing, Testing, Testing • Have not found any new bugs in the past week • All reported bugs have been fixed • System is as complete as a working system can get

  14. Future Directions • Business team is coming up with plans to make this project self sustainable • System is now robust enough for counties to use to create their own hard copy PDFs • Sponsors are now looking for ways to get local governments to utilize the new system
