Our Heritage • For more than 100 years, Goodwill has been helping people find jobs, support their families, and feel the satisfaction that comes from earning a paycheck. • Founded in 1902 in Boston by Rev. Edgar J. Helms, a Methodist minister and early social innovator. • Dr. Helms' vision set an early course for what today has become a $3.2 billion nonprofit organization.

When you donate to Goodwill, you help us fulfill our mission. • Goodwill funds our mission by selling your donated clothing and household goods in 2,200+ retail stores and an online auction site, www.shopgoodwill.com. 2007 Highlights • 65 million donors. • 84 percent of revenues funded employment programs and support services. • 1.1 million people benefited from Goodwill career services. • 140,056 people placed in competitive jobs . • $3.2 billion total revenue.   7. Goodwill & AgrAbility • As a new national partner in AgrAbility, Goodwill will: • Educate Goodwills about the program in all current AgrAbility states • Educate AgrAbility programs about Goodwill • Coordinate trainings in three non-AgrAbility states each year

Family Strengthening • Other Goodwill contributions to AgrAbility: • We will bring our family and financial strengthening approach to the work, which includes cultivation of community partnerships to gain access to valuable support services; youth and adult education, training, and career support; and financial education and asset building activities.

  10. Outreach and Support for Veterans • Goodwill will work with its national AgrAbility partners and state programs to build the capacity to assist returning veterans. Many Goodwill member organizations have dedicated programs for Veterans.
