  7. FAIRMODE - PASODOBLE links • Developing and harmonizing specific air quality service modules • Implementing a generic framework linking from Kopernikus Core Services to the end users • Preparing a solid ground for easy uptake of demonstrated services by new regions and cities • possible test-bed for FAIRMODE developments/activities • Contact thilo.erbertseder@dlr.de

  8. DS-HEALTH • Support to Health Care Community: • Target: people at risk • R&D theme: universal health index/indices per pathology Objectives: • packaging existing AQ data to increase its uptake in health care community • develop information products in conjunction with the health community • information/dissemination mechanisms to increase support among physicians/specialists • keywords: health index, indicators • From local, regional to pan-European users (EMA, WHO)

  9. DS-PUBLIC • Information for the Public, Sports and Tourism • Target: General Public • R&D theme: Integrating AQ, pollen, UV and meteorological information Objectives: • packaging existing AQ, pollen, UV and meteorological service • improve and develop information products by integrating different parameters • increase its uptake in the public • services to general population, tourism and sports • Application along sport events, tourism regions • keywords: indices of well being, sports, tourism, indicators

  10. DS-COMP • Exceedence Toolbox/PM Compliance Monitoring: • Target users: environment agencies, local government • R&D: Set up of a satellite-based “one-stop-shop” for exceedance/PM compliance monitoring for EC directive Objectives: • Collaboration with agencies with AQ Directive compliance duties • improve upon existing desert dust services • build a interface to operationally-provide information on fire, dust, etc • develop standard techniques to assess likelihood of exceedence being caused by a natural phenomenon. • Set up of a “one-stop-shop” for PM compliance monitoring for EC directive

  11. DS-LOCAL • Toolbox for evaluating local AQM/setting European standards: • Target: Regional and municipal governments, city bodies • R&D theme: setting standards for local/urban AQ model implementation, evaluation Regional and municipal governments are increasingly interested inproviding services to assess and forecast local- and city-level air quality. Objectives: • contribute to standardize interfaces for necessary local input datasets based on common practices of regional and local end users throughout Europe • Setting standard criteria/protocol for performance evaluation • Collaboration with / testbed for FAIRMODE initiative
