  2. GEZZO’S SPIRIT NIGHT • Every Thursday during football season is spirit night at Gezzo’s. • Please come out and support your Dutchtown High School football team while enjoying dinner.

  3. A HELPING HAND • Peer tutoring assistance is available in the media center. If you would like a helping hand, please see Bryce McAllister during 1st & 2nd Block or Michael Idaewor during 3rd block.

  4. MR. & MRS. DRAMA • Please stop by room 308 to vote for Mr. and Mrs. Drama. • Deadline for voting is September 30.

  5. PARKING DECALS • This is a reminder that all students must purchase a parking decal to park on campus. • If you have not purchased a decal, please stop by the main office to complete your application. • Payments can be made online at www.myschoolbucks.com. • Parking policies are being enforced!

  6. Students enrolled in the Academy for Advanced Studies (AAS), Impact Academy (IA), Academic Extension or Dual Enrollment will need to pick up a name badge from the main office by tomorrow, September 4.

  7. There will be a boys’ basketball player/parent interest meeting on tomorrow, September 4, at 6:00 PM in the auxiliary gym. Please plan on attending if you intend to tryout. See Coach Griffin with any questions.

  8. If you are interested in doing the K-Pop dance in the International Festival, please meet in the Drama Room tomorrow at 3:30 PM and in room 127 (Mr. Quincey’s room) on Thursday, September 5, at 3:30 PM.

  9. SKATE NIGHT • The DHS Football Booster Club presents Skate Night with THE DAWGS! Join us at the Starlite Skating Center in McDonough on Saturday, September 7, from 7pm-11pm. • The cost is $20 and includes unlimited skating and laser tag. Wristbands can be purchased in the front office with Ms. Ward or at the door. Please come out and show your support.

  10. JUNIOR & SENIOR PROM • The junior and senior prom will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Four Seasons Atlanta. • Prom tickets are now on sale and can be purchased for $110 each until September 30. Prices will increase thereafter. • Tickets can be bought online at myschoolbucks.com. They may also be purchased from Ms. Johnson in room 224 using cash, check or money order.

  11. BOOK CLUB • The Book Club will meet today from 3:30–4:15 PM. • Please bring the book you are currently reading or check one out before the meeting.

  12. Are You Interested in becoming a Peer Mediator ? There will be an informational & general body meeting on Wednesday, September 4, from 3:30pm-4:00pm in room 324 with Mrs. S. Williams, school social worker. You must be a sophomore, junior or senior to apply. The goals of the Peer Mediation Team are: To aid students with resolving disputes between two or more students with the goal of preventing the need of administration from becoming involved in simple disputes among students; To reduce office/behavioral referrals; To create and promote activities that will make Dutchtown High School a safe and welcoming environment of inclusion and reduce bias, bullying, and give an appreciation for diversity.

  13. SENIOR LUNCH JAM • The senior lunch jam will be held on Thursday, September 5, during 3rd block. The cost is $5 without food and $10 with food. Chick-Fil-A will be served. All fees must be paid to Ms. Martin in room 110 by Tuesday, September 3.

  14. JUNIOR LUNCH JAM • The junior lunch jam will be held on Friday, September 6, during 3rd block. Tickets can be bought from Ms. Johnson in room 224 or during lunch from class officers. The last day to place a food order is Wednesday, September 4.

  15. HBCU COLLEGE FAIR • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will sponsor an HBCU College Fair on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10 AM to 2:00 PM at Tabernacle of Praise Church in McDonough. • Admission is free. Register online at https://paohbcufair2019.eventbrite.com

  16. BASKETBALL CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS • Basketball cheerleader tryouts will be Monday-Wednesday, September 9-11. • Packets are available in room 110 or room 216. • If you have any questions, please see Ms. Martin in room 110 or Ms. Acosta in room 216.

  17. Parent – teacher conferences • Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, September 12, from 4 PM to 7 PM. • Parents can schedule conferences with one or more teacher using the links on the Dutchtown website. • Advanced sign-up is required.

  18. SAVE THE DATE • Georgia Tech will host a NACAC Stem College & Career Fair from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 29, at McCamish Pavilion. • Free registration at www.gotomystemfair.com.

  19. ASVAB • The ASVAB will be given on Tuesday, October 8. • Please go to the counseling office to sign up.

  20. The PSAT is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, during 1st block through an extended 2nd block. First time 10th graders are scheduled to test at no cost. The cost is $17 for any freshman or junior who would like to test. Please see Mr. Clark or your counselor for more information.
