  1. Reasons why you should not use homemade laundry detergent Aside from the fact that laundry is a never-ending cycle, keeping at the washing machine can cause you to think of some uniquely healthy challenges to up your living, comfort and functionality. If your typical bottle of scented laundry detergent contains harmful fragrances and chemicals, you might be thinking of creating a home-made detergent which can save you both on the cost as well as health wise. Homemade detergent is quite simple to make with four or five ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store and since you know exactly what’s in it like baking soda, borax, washing soda, shaved bar soap and more, you aren’t too concerned about the safety or will go online to learn about the ingredients.

  2. Best of all your homemade laundry detergent is cheap and seems to have everything going for it. But on the negative side it can also ruin your clothes and create a lot of issues when it comes to washing them. Here are some of the problems caused. ● Homemade detergent can ruin your clothes If the water you’re using to wash your clothes is hard water then your home-made liquid detergent will react with the dissolved magnesium and calcium in the water leaving unwanted residue on your clothes. In the process of creating this residue, soap is used up so your clothes won’t be cleaned properly and this can stiffen or ruin the fabrics. If the water is soft on the other hand then the detergent can still react with it and leave the dirt on your clothes ruining them. ● It can even ruin your washing machine Your homemade laundry detergent can react between the soap and hard minerals and mess with your cleaning equipment. Just as it leaves deposits and dirt on your clothes it can cause a film, mold and mildew to grow and form in your washing machine and you really don’t want to be cleaning your clothes in a grimy and dirty machine. Plus think about all the pains you need to take to clean it. ● Creating your own liquid detergent can be hazardous When creating your own cleaning products, you lack the labelling, preservatives and child safe packaging and if not stored properly

  3. it can be hazardous to children and pets in the home. Some diy laundry detergents also react with the plastic packaging you place it in and since it is not tested for safe in the wrong doses it can not only harm your machine but can completely ruin your clothes and in turn your health. ● Real Detergent Works, Real detergent is labelled according to safety guidelines and engineered properly so it doesn’t react with the hard or soft water and will do what it is intended to do. Moreover, it is tested for toxic ingredients and is choice approved, free from harsh chemicals and dyes and you can see each ingredient on the bottle. Since it’s packaged properly with a sealed cap, your pets and children won’t be able to open it without adult supervision. Name: Mr DIY Website: https://www.mrdiy.com.my/
