CRUISE SUCCESS • Winner of Cruise Insight Magazine awards for “Most Responsive Port” in 2015 and “Most Improved Cruise Destination” in 2013; • 2017 saw a record 26 calls and 35,000 passengers visiting Portland Port; • The record will be broken again in 2018 when 33 calls and 40,000 passengers will visit Portland; • Growth from 2007 to 2018 of 1,066% in cruise calls and 4,439% in cruise passengers; • Regular visits by major cruise lines including Holland America Line, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Aida, TUI, Phoenix Reisen, Hapag-Lloyd, Seabourn and Disney.

LOCATION • Located only 20 nautical miles North of the main English Channel shipping lanes; • Located in the natural sweep of Weymouth Bay and protected from the prevailing south westerly winds; • Vessels have a very short and direct pilotage to berths of as little as 45 minutes; • Perfectly located for transit calls en-route between the Mediterranean and the Baltic; • Perfectly located to form part of Round Britain cruises; • Perfectly located to form part of Western Europe cruises.

FACILITIES • Max length on berth in excess of 340m (subject to Harbour Master’s approval); • Max depth on berth 11.6m, with minimum 9.5m on main cruise berth; • Year round availability of berths; • No tidal constraints with maximum tidal range of only 2.3m; • 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation; • Existing passenger terminal for turnaround calls; • Quayside parking for excursion coaches on day calls; • Availability of bunkers; • Availability of marpol reception; • Availability of engineering support.

PASSENGER TERMINAL • The Britannia Passenger Terminal provides passenger facilities for ship turnarounds; • Turnaround capacity in excess of 500 passengers; • The Terminal provides a passenger check-in area, passenger seating, bar area for refreshments*, TV area, security screening, baggage X-Ray facilities; • For smaller vessels the turnaround process will take place at the Cruise Terminal at the berth; • Passengers are coached from the Terminal building to the berth; • Car and Coach drop off area at the Terminal front.; • Car parking can be arranged if required. * Refreshments can be provided for purchase by Port or from ship as required.

PORTLAND WELCOME While we cannot control what goes on when people our outside the port it is essential that the guest experience in the port is a positive one: • Welcome from Portland town crier as passengers disembark; • Tourist information available on quayside; • Complimentary shuttle bus service to Weymouth; • Quayside attractions; • Music on departure; • “Three gun salute” by the Nothe Fort Victorian Artillery Volunteers.

The global market grew by over 62% in the 10 years 2005-2015; • The Global cruise market in 2017 is forecast to exceed 25.8 million passengers; • Global fleets growing to meet demand – over 70 new builds on order; • Vessel sizes increasing. • The economic opportunity: • Average spend per head on a transit call of over Euro62.00; • Around 40,000 passengers will pass through Portland Port in 2018 meaning a benefit to the local and regional economy of around £2.25m.
