  1. Competitors, Coaches, Managers and Parents Newsletter There is less than a month to go before we kick off on what promises to be another exciting Nationals Competition. Our team in Port Elizabeth is hard at work preparing to welcome you for what we hope is another great week on the beach and in the pool. To ensure that all the Clubs, Competitors, Coaches, Managers and Parents are all informed on what is happening we have put together a Newsletter with all the details and relevant contact emails. Please share amongst yourselves. There are some cut off dates for items that can be booked, so please take note.

  2. BEACH & POOL TICKET SALES • Once again, we will be selling ticket booklets. These can be used at all our Food Vendors and Bars. They are in Rand denominations. • The booklets can be purchased from the Ticket Booths using Credit/ Debit Cards and Cash. • We would like to encourage the use of cards to purchase tickets whenever possible. • Beach Ticket Booklets: • Can be pre-booked by 20 March 2019 as follows: • Email mark.lippstreu@gmail.com • Indicate how many R100 ticket booklets you would like to purchase – minimum of R500 per order • EFT the amount to: • Kings Beach Surf Life Saving Club • First National Bank • Account: 62140998397 • Reference: YOUR NAME – TICKETS (e.g. E. Smith – Tickets) • Email Proof of Payment and your ID Number to mark.lippstreu@gmail.com • Ticket Booklets can be collected and signed for at the Ticket Booth. • Please bring your ID as no booklets will be issued without verification and payment. • The Clothing Vendors are NOT part of this system and will accept cash and credit cards. • The Standard Bank mobile ATM will be onsite at the beach in the Food Court. • Pool Ticket Booklets: • Can be pre-booked by 20 March 2019 as follows: • Email chairman@lifesavingnmb.co.za • Indicate how many R100 ticket booklets you would like to purchase – minimum of R500 per order • EFT the amount to: • Lifesaving Nelson Mandela Bay • Standard bank • Account: 37 17 16 888 • Reference: YOUR NAME – TICKETS (e.g. E. There are no ATM facilities at the Pool TICKET BOOKLETS – IMPORTANT The Tickets for the Beach and the Pool are ONLY valid at their respective venues. You will NOT be able to use Beach Tickets at the Pool and vice versa. PLEASE NOTE: The BANKING DETAILS for pre-purchasing of the tickets are DIFFERENT for the Beach and the Pool.

This year the Beach Bar will be available for rental as an evening function venue for your Club’s private use from 24 to 27 March. • There are various food and entertainment options available for your club to choose from: • Rental Cost for the Night: R1000 (includes barmen & clean up) • Food Options: • R60pp: Braai Pack only - lamb chop, wors, chicken kebab • Wood for fires and Braai Tongs will be supplied • Paper Plates and Cutlery supplied • Adults and kids pay the same price • R80pp: Braai Pack - lamb chop, wors, chicken kebab, 1 x green salad, 1 x coleslaw, 1 x roll pp • Wood for fires and Braai Tongs will be supplied • Paper plates and Cutlery supplied • Adults and kids pay the same price Wow Fact: Did you know there are 2074 Nippers and 3750 Lifeguards in South Africa?

  4. FOOD AT NATIONALS The Menu is the same for the Beach and the Pool. Food will be on sale in the Food Court from 24 to 30 March 2019. Operating Hours: 7am to 7pm Breakfast: 07h00 to 11h00 Lunch: 11h00 to 17h30 Dinner: 17h30 to 19h00 All food and beverages can be purchased with tickets. NO Cash will be accepted at the food court or bar. Wakaberry and Oh My Coffee will be back in the Food Court at the Beach. There will be a coffee vendor at the Pool. The Menu: Bacon and Egg Roll R25 Bacon, Egg, Grilled Onion & Cheese R30 Square Sausage, Bacon & Egg R40 Hot Chips R25 Cheese Griller R25 Chicken or Beef Burger R40 Chicken or Beef Cheese Burger R45 Banting Burger – Giant Mushroom R50 Prego Steak Roll R45 Toasted Cheese R20 Toasted Ham & Cheese R25 Toasted Chicken Mayo R25 Foot Long Subs R25 Daily Salads R40 • The Beach Evening Menu: • Served from 17h30 until 19h00 • First come, first served • R50 per meal • 25 March – Grilled Chicken Quarter Leg with Roasted Veg, Couscous • 26 March – Boneless Kassler Chop with Potato Salad & Roasted Veg • 27 March – Chicken Korma with Jasmine Rice • 28 March – Beef Lasagne • 29 March – Roast Sirloin with Gravy, Rice & Veg BEACH - EVENING ENTERTAINMENT LINE UP At the end of each day there will be live entertainment before and after prize giving. Our local musos will be playing current and classic songs to keep spirits high. At the end of Junior/Senior Nationals on Saturday 30 March, the after party will be bigger than ever before. Security will be very strict and NO U18 drinking will be tolerated. Beach access will be blocked off. BEACH & POOL - HALAAL FOOD For those requiring Halaal food options, a menu from La Fiesta Halaal Restaurant will be available at the Ticket Booths at the Beach and the Pool. All Halaal food orders need to be made by 11h00 daily for collection from the Ticket Booth at 12h00. Payment is required when ordering.

  5. BEACH - PARKING • ALL parking is in the Main Kings Beach Parking lot. • DO NOT leave valuables in plain sight or unattended. Key Jamming is very prevalent. • VIP Parking: • The grassed area next to the Club is for Officials, the Organising Committee, and those working at the event. • Numbered VIP Parking tokens will be issued. • Please DO NOT badger the security staff to park here if you do not have a token. • The drivers of vehicles dropping off trailers and boards are kindly requested to return to the Main Kings Beach Car Park to park for the day. DO NOT park in the VIP Parking Area – space is limited! • BEACH RULES & BEACH SAFETY RULES • Kings Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and is governed by the following rules: • No littering • No Dogs • No vehicles to park on the beach • No glass bottles • No Alcohol to be consumed on the beach at any time • No Tent branding or other branding that conflicts with Life Saving South Africa or their Sponsors will be allowed • Safety Rules: • Do Not LEAN or SIT on any fencing or structures • Do Not MOVE any fencing to enter arenas • Entry and No Entry points are clearly marked – kindly adhere to these CRAFT PARKING ARRANGEMENTS Security will onsite from 23 to 30 March watch over your trailers and boards in the allocated area on the beach. Should you wish to drop your trailer and boards anytime before the 23rd of March, this will be at your own risk. TENT ALLOCATIONS The availability of tents from the supplier dictates the lay-out of the tents on the beach and this determines the lay-out used. Each year the organisers do their best every year to fulfil club requests. FUN FACT: Team South Africa won 21 Gold Medals at the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships

  6. GENERAL • Water Shortages: • Nelson Mandela Bay is experiencing severe water shortages. Please be mindful of the following: • No washing of craft is permitted • Showering to be kept very short • Litter: • When up at the Food Court or the Bar, please be aware that there are NO waiters to clear away your empty containers. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES and leave the space as you would like to find it. There are plenty of bins in the Food Court for this purpose. Toilets: The Municipal Toilets are the facilities for all competitors, coaches, managers and parents to use. The Club is not equipped to provide these facilities for everyone and please adhere to the NO ENTRY signs stopping your entry to the Club House facilities. The Portaloos on the beach are for the Officials only, please respect the No Entry signs.
