Smarter Growth in the I-80/Capitol Corridor ABAG – Caltrans – MTC – SACOG - STA I-80 Project Background • Solano County highest % workers working in other counties • Avg Solano County commute = 23 miles (Bay Area avg = 16 mi) • Sacramento & Yolo counties largest # jobs by Bay Area residents • Truck traffic on I-80 in Solano Co. to increase 115% by 2040 • Capitol Corridor 3rd busiest in U.S. – tripled in last 6 yrs
