  6. UNCOVERING the uncovered A Brief Review

  7. The 1st BLESSING of the Letter • [3] BLESSED is the ONEREADING • and the ONESHEARING the WORDS of THISPROPHECY, • andKEEPING the THINGSWRITTENINIT; for the time is near.

  8. An Introduction to this Study of the SEVENSPIRITS – • Revelation 1:4 • “John to the seven congregations that are in Asia: GRACE to you and PEACE, • FROMHIM WhoIS and WhoWAS and WhoIS TO COME;…”

  9. Revelation 1:4 • ANDthis ‘GRACE and PEACE’, was also… • … FROM the SEVENSPIRITS who are before HIS throne;

  10. WHO or WHAT are theseSPIRITS? 7

  11. How NUMBERS Can Be Used in Scripture And Especially in the Revelation Letter

  12. On the table in the back: • Significant Numbers in the Book of Revelation • The Seven Spirits of God and online @ www.thelordsway.com/cocjanesvillewi

  13. DON’T OVER THINK IT!!!

  14. The Number 7 • is a SYMBOL of ‘FULLNESS’ or ‘COMPLETENESS’ or ‘PERFECTION’, • because of its relation to a COMPLETE CYCLE, • as WEEKS of SEVENdays.

  15. The Number 7 • is also a ‘SACRED’ NUMBER! • The (symbolic DIVINE number) is 3 • + (symbolic number of CREATION) 4 • 7

  16. The Number 7 • The symbolic DIVINE number 3, • symbolically represents a ‘COMPLETE’ or ‘STRUCTURED’ WHOLE, • as in the Trinity of the Godhead; • or a 3-STRAND cord [Eccl 4:12], etc.

  17. The Number 7 • The symbolic number of CREATION and this WORLD is 4, • i.e. the 4 cornersof the earth, • or the 4 directions of the compass.

  18. The Number 7 • Therefore, 3+4=7, symbolizes those things which REPRESENT • the ‘FULLNESS’, • the ‘COMPLETION’ • or ‘PERFECTION’ • of that which is ‘SACRED’!

  19. THEREFORE – • think of the 7 congregations: SYMBOLICALLY – NOTLITERALLY! • ASREPRESENTATIVEof ALLCONGREGATIONS then and now!

  20. WHO or WHAT are theseSPIRITS? 7

  21. DEFINING the SEVENSPIRITS of Revelation 1:4 • Revelation 4:5 • … there were • SEVENLAMPS of FIREBURNING before the throne, • which are the • SEVENSPIRITS of GOD;

  22. 7 Spirits or 7 Lamps of Fire? 7 Lamps • Exodus 25:37 • The purpose • of these • ‘sevenlamps’ • was to ILLUMINE • the area in front of • the lampstand Lampstand[Ex 25:31]

  23. The metaphorical significance of the ‘seven spirits of God’ • is to ‘illuminate’ or ‘enlighten’ the minds of God’s people • to the truth of His word • and to enable them to understandspiritual things

  24. 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 • [12] Nowwe HAVE RECEIVED, NOTthe SPIRIT of the world, • butthe SPIRITWho is from God, • thatwe MIGHT KNOWthe things freely GIVEN to us by God,

  25. [13] which things we also speak, • NOTinWORDSTAUGHTbyHUMANWISDOM, • butinTHOSE TAUGHTby the Spirit, • combiningSPIRITUAL[thoughts]withSPIRITUAL[words].

  26. [14] But a NATURAL MANDOES NOT ACCEPT the THINGSoftheSPIRITofGod; • fortheyareFOOLISHNESS to him, • and he CANNOT UNDERSTANDthem, • because they are SPIRITUALLYAPPRAISED [(G350) DISCERNED].

  27. Application: • In 2 Samuel 22:29 we read, • For Thou art my LAMP, O LORD; • And the LORDILLUMINESmy darkness.

  28. Application: • and, Psalm 18:28 says of the LORD God, • For Thou DOSTLIGHT my LAMP; • The LORD my GODILLUMINES my darkness.

  29. Zechariah 4:2 • Here the angel-messenger asks Zechariah what he sees. Zechariah responds, • “I see, and behold, A LAMPSTAND… • … and its SEVENLAMPS…. • What is the meaning?

  30. Zechariah 4:10 • … But THESESEVEN… [LAMPS, vs 2] • … these are the EYESof the LORD • which range to and frothroughout the earth.”

  31. The ‘theseseven’ are the ‘sevenLAMPS’ of Zechariah 4:2. • By implication the ‘sevenSPIRITSofGod’ of Revelation 4:5 • and are identified as “theEYESoftheLORD” in Zechariah 4:10

  32. The EYE’S of the Lord…

  33. ‘EYE’ (H5869 / G3788) • Meaning an EYE, or a spring, a fountain. • When a spring, or fountain – the meaning is SOURCE…. • … the SOURCEofLIGHT by which the EYE is ENABLED to SEE [Prov 20:12]

  34. Luke 11:34-36 • [34] “The LAMP of your body is your EYE; • when your eye is clear, your whole body also is FULLofLIGHT; • BUT when it is BAD, your body also is FULLof DARKNESS.

  35. [35] Then watch out that the light in you may not be darkness. • [36] If thereforeyour whole body is FULL of LIGHT, with no dark part in it, • it shall be WHOLLYILLUMINED, as when the LAMP ILLUMINES you with its rays.”

  36. The KEY THING to remember from Zechariah 4:10 is • “the EYES of the LORD… • range TO and FRO throughout the earth.”

  37. Application: • Since, 2 Chronicles 16:9 states, • “For the EYES of the LORD move to and frothroughout the earth • that He may STRONGLYSUPPORTthose whose HEARTisCOMPLETELYHis....”

  38. Application: • Since, Psalm 33:18 states, • “… the EYE of the LORD is on those who fear Him, • On those who HOPE FOR HISLOVINGKINDNESS,”

  39. of the four living creatures [or beings] and in middle of the elders a Lamb standing as if having been slain having seven horns and SEVEN EYES • Also, consider Revelation 5:6, • And I saw in middle of the Throne and of the four living creatures [or beings] which are the SEVENSPIRITS of GOD HAVING BEEN SENTOUTINTOALL THE EARTH.

  40. It Is Necessary to Understand • the “‘EYES of the LORD’ which range to and fro throughout the earth” in Zechariah 4:10 • are also the “SEVENEYES’of the Lambslain of Revelation5:6

  41. It Is Necessary to Understand • these are “the SEVENSPIRITS of God in Revelation 5:6, SENT OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH”

  42. By Necessary Inference • These all equate to being: • “the SEVENSPIRITS who are before the throne” Revelation 1:4 • and the • “the sevenSpirits of God” Revelation 3:1; 4:5; 5:6

  43. “theSEVENSPIRITSofGodwhoarebeforethethrone”Revelation 1:4;3:1; 4:5; 5:6 • REPRESENTthe ‘FULL’ and ‘COMPLETE’ and ‘PERFECT’ ILLUMINATIONofGod’sWORDtoGod’sSPIRITUAL people!

  44. TwoNon-Apocalyptic Examples of 7 ’s

  45. Ephesians 4:1-6 • [1] I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, • [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love,

  46. Ephesians 4:1-6 • [3] being diligent to PRESERVE the UNITY of the SPIRIT in the bond of peace. • UNITY = ONENESS • [4] THERE IS…

  47. The 7 Ones of Ephesians 4:4-6 • Verse 4 • … ONEBODY… • … and ONESPIRIT, • … just as also you were called in ONEHOPE of your calling;

  48. The 7 Ones of Ephesians 4:4-6 • Verse 5 • … ONELORD, • … ONEFAITH, • … ONEBAPTISM,

  49. The 7 Ones of Ephesians 4:4-6 • Verse 7 • … ONEGOD and FATHER of all Who is over all and through all and in all.
