  4. Using CRITERIA Use criteria to rank order your most promising solution ideas on a scale from 1 (poorest) to 8 (best). You will only use each number once in each column! CRITERIA

  5. Finding the Best Solution Add the ranks you have given to each solution and enter the sums in the Total column. CRITERIA

  6. The solution with the highest score is used to create the team’s action plan.

  7. Step 6: THE ACTION PLAN Action Plan

Writing the ACTION PLANAction Plan=the solution with the highest score • Choose the team’s best writer or the person who knows the most about the solution • Explain and elaborate how this solution will be implemented. • Who will do it? What specific groups will work together? Explain who they are. • What will they do? What actions will be taken to implement this solution? How? Why? • Where and when? Develop a timeline. • Obstacles? Explain strategies to overcome.

  9. Develop an Action Plan • Assistance? Who in the community or world will help you implement this solution? • Resistance? What can be done to alleviate fears, worries, or resistance? • Show how your plan addresses at least 2 or 3 of the criteria you outlined in your Step 4 • Be creative—think categories—go beyond the normal • Convince the reader that your solution will work!

  10. Completing the Booklet While the action plan is being completed, the rest of the team … • Proofreads and edits • Adds challenges and/or solutions if needed • Checks for legibility • Puts the book in order • Completes the cover sheet
