  2. Go to File > Import mp3 (or record audio if you are making a recording) Use the cursor tool to select the section of the audio you want to use as your ringtone. Aim for around 15 seconds. Copy the selection and paste it into a new audacity window In Audacity

  3. Under the “Tracks” menu, click “Stereo track to Mono” Click on File > Export Adjust the quality settings (or just leave them, it doesn’t really matter) Then…

  4. Import the mp3 by clicking File > Add to Library Highlight the ringtone in iTunes Go to Advanced Menu > Create AAC Version Delete the original non-AAC version of the ringtone from iTunes In ITunes

  5. Edit the file extension of the ringtone so that it is “.m4r” instead of “m4a” If you are using Windows, then ask a Hawk Genius for Help. In Finder

  6. iPhone users (on the computer) Android Users (on the computer) • Drag the ringtone into the “Tones” window in iTunes • Sync your phone • Connect your phone to your computer using your USB cable (if you forgot yours, Cam has an extra) • In a new Finder window, find your phone under devices. If you are using Windows, go to the start menu and click Computer (or My Computer) and then your phone. • Copy and paste the ringtone onto your phone • Safely remove your phone.

IPhone users (on your iPhone) Android users (on your android) • Open the Settings app • Go to Sound • Go to Ringtones • Tap your ringtone to set it and you’re done! • Open the Music app (the one that came with your phone, not Double Twist!) • Tap and hold on your ringtone • Tap “Set as Ringtone” and you’re done!
