SUNY Council on Assessment (SCoA) • Enhances the assessment of institutional effectiveness and student learning by building, leading, and supporting a SUNY-wide assessment community that fosters collaboration, reduces duplication of effort and provides guidance and resources to campuses • Plans and leads professional development opportunities for faculty, staff and administrators in the area of assessment Meets in January and June.

SCoA Regional Workshops October 2013 Enhancing Excellence in Assessment: Institutional Effectiveness and Learning Analytics @ University at Albany October 24, 2013 This one-day workshop on enhancing excellence will focus on Learning Analytics and Institutional Effectiveness. The workshop will be offered in three regional locations and will have the same agenda, with slight variations based upon regional representation. The day will include a presentation from the FACT2 Learning Analytics Task Group and a panel discussion on best practices in institutional assessment from the perspectives of non-academic units. A working lunch will focus on gathering feedback on a SUNY rubric to assist campuses in assessing and continuously improving their assessment practices.Participants will:--increase their awareness of trends and issues facing SUNY campuses regarding Learning Analytics. --learn of best practices that will help campus teams prepare for and plan strategies for addressing and doing follow up on Middle States Standard 7, Institutional Effectiveness. --have the opportunity to identify topics for future SUNY Council on Assessment (SCoA) activities/ Be prepared to share your recommendations and connect with SUNY colleagues involved in assessment that you can reach out to later.Other Dates/Locations: October 8 - The College at Brockport October 16 - Stony Brook University

Assessment Network of New York (ANNY) • Founded in 2010, over 200 members by fall 2011, more than 60% from SUNY • Created to stimulate dialogue and the exchange of ideas related to assessment • across MSCHE-accredited institutions and provide support and resources to • those committed to meaningful assessment of student learning and institutional • effectiveness • Elected first Executive Board in June 2012 (11 members, 6 from SUNY, including 3 • State Ops and 3 Community Colleges) • SERVICES: Listserv (coming), Newsletter, Regional Workshop at • Rockland Community College on November 2 • Free, charter memberships still available http://www.oneonta.edu/anny/
