  2. AMBAC: Mexican Library Association • A national library association • Structure is rigid - Statutes • Based in Mexico City

  3. Recruitment • Focuses mainly on library students • Fees are lower for them • Students papers are part of the annual conference • A special session is set up for student presentations • Conference volunteers are students

  4. New Professionals • There is no formal policy, but… • New professionals are normally included in committees • Informal tutoring by senior librarians • Informal mentoring by more experienced professionals

  5. Challenges • Empower new professionals into library association management • Include them in library management positions • Make the association “Younger”

  6. Opportunities • Change Association statutes • Create recruitment and leadership policies • Plan the incorporation of new professionals into the structure of the association
