Why using posters? • Good posters reach a wide audience • Viewers of your poster can read the material in their own way and take as much time they need • Posters get a high amount of attention for relatively low investments • Posters can be created quickly which keeps your poster up to date • You can place your poster on a strategic place where you reach your audience

  4. 2. Purposes of poster • Information source • Overview of your project • Advertisement of your project • Conversation starter

  5. 3. Different types of Posters • Educational posters • Posters with a lot of information.   6. 4. Do… • Minimize text • Use a simple style with simple graphics • Use a large font size • Use white spaces to organize your poster • Use appropriate colors • Include contact information • Check your spelling

  7. 5. Don’t… • Use a lot of different colors • Use difficult fonts • Use shading • Use different figures all the time, but maintain continutiy. (For example with clothes and other features) • Go into detail • Offend religious or cultural beliefs of people

  8. 6. Tip Design the poster first by drawing and writing your initial idea before designing it on the computer

  10. 6. Tip Reader gravity isthe phenomenon that readers tend to read in their own language-specific way. In Western countries this means that the readers eyes are pulled from top to bottom and from left to right. Use this knowledge.
