Basic Program Information • The Chance at Childhood Program includes three components: • The Child & Family Advocacy Certificate Program • Continuing Education programming in the legal and social work professional communities & layperson community outreach • Law & Social Work Clinic Our mission: “To promote and protect the well being of children and families through integrated education and advocacy”

The Certificate Program • Apply to the Child & Family Advocacy Certificate Program • Program is comprised of three components: • Core Curriculum: • Integrated Law & SW Seminar in Child Welfare • Child Welfare/Abuse & Neglect Course in Social Work • Elective Course • Family Law elective from Law College (several to choose) • Law & Social Work Clinic Externship

  4. Law & Social Work ClinicExternship Experience • Broad definition of child welfare-Clinic handles a variety of legal matters involving children • Law & social work graduate students paired together to complete work • Law students complete one semester of externship- 12 hours per week
