  3. Why Professional Development Curriculum? Prepare Students to be: • Focused and able to identify the right job opportunities • Ready to enter the work environment Provide Services: • Professional development class • Platform for exploration and trial

  4. Objectives

  5. Identify In order to identify the students needs, capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, professional preferences: • 1:1 personal meetings with the students and the Professional Development Advisor • Alumni Mentoring Program • Career coach services • Career tests

  6. Equip Fill the gaps and equip the students with a skill set that will enable them to leverage their career opportunities: • Soft skill classes such as: CV writing, interviewing skills, public speaking, presentation as decision making tool, networking, and more • Introducing headhunting services to guide through the employment seeking process • Lectures and meetings with business leaders and professionals who will share their first hand experiences

Connect Connecting you to industry and business leaders to develop your network by: • Interest Groups – focus on industries of interest • Company visits – to expose you to Israeli and global companies, and the different job descriptions and employment opportunities • Networking events • Conferences • Alumni events • Social networks – Linked-In, Facebook, etc.

Professional Development Timeline Exposure to Israeli industries and companies Meeting Professional Development Advisor Get at least 1 job offer Follow and explore companies of interest Form interest groups Take the time to reflect Learn about positions and career paths Start Sending CV’s Job interviews Connect Equip Identify Sofaer Class of 2010-2011 – Professional Development Curriculum June March Oct.   10. Career Management Class Components: • 7 classes on skill development, career management and employment trends • Participation in all workshops is mandatory! • 8 company visits • Participation is mandatory in at least 4 • 10 guest lectures • Participation is mandatory in at least 6

  11. Grading • Attendance (60%) • Individual and group assignments (30%) • Web presence/activity on our site (10%)
