  2. CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO TEACH Choose what you want to teach is one of the basic question to answer before starting a career in teaching. If you want to Become a Teacher, then ask several questions from yourself like would you enjoy teaching? If yes, then in which subjects? There are multiple options and subjects in which you can start your teaching career.  STEPS TO BECOME A TEACHER If you want to become a teacher then there are certain steps that you must follow. These are: 1. Complete your education requirement. 2. Complete a Teacher Preparation Program. 3. Pass the required tests. 4. Apply for state teacher certification. 5. Find a teaching job in your state. 6. Take classroom experience and participate in classroom activities. 7. Apply for teaching license. So these are the basic steps you have to follow if you want to become a teacher in the United States. This guide will help you to learn the steps and the key information you should know about how to become a teacher.

  3. COMPLETE YOUR EDUCATION REQUIREMENT To become a teacher in your state you must have bachelor degree. All the state K-12 schools requires teachers to have at least a bachelor degree. The bachelor degree should be from a accredited college or university.  COMPLETE A TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAM In order to become a teacher your state you have to complete the teacher preparation program. There are two ways to complete the teacher preparation program in your state, one is tradition route and the other one is alternative route. Under traditional route you have to complete the masters from a recognized college or university. Beside this there is an alternative route which is a Online Teacher Certification Program. These type of programs allow you to begin your career as a teacher in the schools of your state. In Online Teacher Certification Program, you have to pass the Professional Teaching Knowledge Exam and Subject area exam which will be a mix of essay type, reasoning based questions. The Professional Teaching Knowledge Exam measures the classroom teaching  skills of a candidate where as subject area exam assesses a candidate's skill in their specific K-12 subject area.

  4. APPLY FOR STATE TEACHER CERTIFICATION To become a teacher in your state apply for a temporary teacher certification with your state department of education. Submit your transcripts and teacher certification program documents and get a temporary teaching permit in your state.  FIND A TEACHING JOB IN YOUR STATE After completing the above steps, you will be able to start teaching in a public school. For that you need to find a teaching position in one of the schools in your state. TAKE CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE After getting a job in the public school start teaching and gain classroom experience. Participate and arrange in different workshops and be a part of professional development activities. After that apply for permanent teaching license.
