In situ Molecular-Scale Probes: AFM AS Lea (PI), SR Higgins (Wright State), JE Amonette Fine-scale imaging capability for mineral carbonation in situ is absent • Build the world’s first hyperbaric hydrothermal atomic force microscope (H2AFM) capable of imaging mineral carbonation reactions at the mineral-fluid interface in scCO2 to study reaction mechanisms and kinetics.
