  2. Concept • Lifelong Learning at Leeds is about... • Creating opportunities so that people of any age are not bound for their lifetimes by the decisions and experiences of their past • Opening up the University, its knowledge and learning opportunities to wider audiences.

Public engagement activities • Outreach to adults in the community • Support for partner organisations • ‘Spring into Summer’ 6 week-short courses for the public • Seminar series for students, alumni, employers and public • Adult Summer School and taster days • Arabic and Islamic Studies NCB short courses in the community • * Courses relevant to local people? • * Degrees relevant to local people? • * Student projects in the workplace

  9. Where does it begin and end? • The type of activity? Formal definition? Level of cost? • More about culture, values, attitude and intent – the ethos brought to the activities and the spirit of mutuality, partnership and sharing
