  5. Mindset for Peace 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Great promise! Can you claim it? There are conditions… Romans 8:28 Let’s look back at the beginning of Romans 8 as we consider these conditions.

Mindset for Peace Called according to His purpose Those who love God Romans 8:1-4 1Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, 4so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

No condemnation for you! Spirit of life in Christ has set you free from the law of sin and death! What the Law could not do in your flesh, God did in Christ! You have been freed, saved, invited, called from bondage to God’s purposes! This is not your personal achievement, it’s God’s achievement If you’ve received Christ into your life, then you’ve simply answered His call Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

God sent His Son as an offering for your sin so that the “requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in (you)” You are not perfect, but through Christ, God sees that His Law is fulfilled in you! There are many requirements of the Law, but Jesus tells us the greatest requirement: 35One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, 36“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38“This is the great and foremost commandment.” (Matthew 22:35-38)

It happens. Loving God is the right emotion God uses your faith that He sees you loving Him to help you experience loving Him As you apply faith to the way He sees you, you don’t “feel” guilt, you “feel” love When you feel love for God, you also feel peace (another emotion)

Set your mind on His work for you and the results of that work, not your flesh (have faith!) The Spirit beckons you to have faith in His calling of your life But the Law appeals to your flesh for performance By faith, see your love for God as God sees it: Through Christ’s blood Be encouraged to consciously experience this love for God He is glorified and you are blessed with real love for God! This is a Mindset for Peace

Romans 8:28 This promise applies to you, as you simply apply faith to what Christ has done for you So it really says that we know that God causes all things to work together for good for you! Who love God, through Christ’s work, by His grace Saved and called, through Christ’s work, by His grace By setting your mind on your faith in His work, you maintain your Mindset for Peace

Romans 8:28 God causes all things… Good things and bad things Great things and tragic things Natural things and government things Healthiness and sickness Wealth and unemployment Retiring and never retiring The impact of others’ sins The impact of your forgiven sins

The magnitude and quality of His good for you is proven 31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? (Rom. 8:31-32)

  23. Future is Now 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 The power of this verse is really unleashed in your life when you understand that the future is now! God didn’t just start working all things together for His very best for you He’s been doing that all along! He has worked your past together with everything else touching your life for His very best for you in the next moment Expect His best and be prepared to act for His best Sacred moments God sending each encounter (“working all things together”) Each moment is “electric” and filled with anticipation Raises life from the mundane to the exceptional
  24. Future is Now 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 The power of this verse is really unleashed in your life when you understand that the future is now! 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. (Rom. 8:29-30) All that we’ve discussed today ispart of His sovereign work to conform you to the image of His Son
  25. Future is Now 28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 The power of this verse is really unleashed in your life when you understand that the future is now! 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestinedto become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. (Rom. 8:29-30) All that we’ve discussed today is part of His sovereign work to conform you to the image of His Son Past tense: He sees ahead, and so should you! Not only has He worked all things together for this moment, but He will see you through this moment… and the next… and to all your moments… to Glory!

Romans 8:28 Mindset for Peace Think aboutthe certainty of God’s calling and that Christ to fulfill the Law in you God sees through Christ that you love Him with all your heart, soul and mind! Believe this… Set your mind on this… This sets your mind on the Spirit, and from here you more fully experience love for Him… and peace Sovereignty for Good Know that God works all things together for His best for you (He’s proven) Feel your best idea of best, and know that He will far exceed that idea Future is Now God has been working all things together for His best for you all along! Each moment filled with anticipation as you eagerly participate in His best PEACE!
