  1. Know your meat? Jeanine Feito

  2. Some people don’t know… • That the meat packing industry has been a problem since the great depression. • Food is becoming less pure and more harmful to Americans. • You are eating more harmful hormones than actual food. • These harmful hormones are causing a lot of health issues.

  3. Injection on animals. • Animals are being injected with harmful hormones to make animals bigger faster when they are born. • These chemicals causes the animals to get so big they cant walk straight.

  4. Animals are abused incessantly. Some haven’t seen sunlight but are trapped in a cage their whole life before being sent to a slaughterhouse.

  5. Many of these animals die before being sent to the slaughterhouse of depression or insanity. • When an animal seems too weak they are bashed in the head to death. Farmers do this because these animals will not be good enough to be eat later. They kill them so they don’t waste the food.

  6. The male chicks are killed immediately for they cannot lay eggs. • All chickens are cramped into a large room where they have no room to walk. Some have broken legs and are starved. Those are killed viciously. • When being sent to the slaughterhouse their beaks and feathers are removed without painkillers. • They are hung by they legs where their necks get broken. Some die by being sliced open.

  7. Pigs • Immediately when born, a pigs tail is ripped out, without painkillers, and are injected with hormones. The baby pigs are separated from their mother. This causes many pigs to enter a depression. • A pigs cage is so small that they have little to no room to turn around.

  8. Cows • Most cows are killed by being shot between the eyes. Since these animals are very large it is difficult to beat them to death. • A ritual slaughter is when the cow is completely conscious while their carotid arteries are sliced open. Some go unconscious but many remain conscious for eighteen minutes while bleeding to death.

  9. Causes… • Many of the sick animals that are too ill or at the point where they cannot walk are killed immediately and sent to our nations food supply. • In 2009, the meat and poultry industry processed:8.7 billion chickens 33.3 million cattle 246 million turkeys 2.2 million sheep and lambs 113.6 million hogs

  10. Since the animals are injected with a load of hormones children are hitting puberty earlier than usual. Including that girls as young as nine years old are getting their periods. • Over 73,000 people get sick annually with our unhealthy food supply. Obesity and diabetes is becoming an affect from our chemically filled “food”.

  11. What can you do • Being a vegetarian is not the only solution. But making these cruel facts known and acting out against them can bring change. • Talk to your friends and announce that the food you consume is becoming dangerous and poor animals are being terribly murdered for your consumption. • Join PETA or other organizations that bring these facts forward to the public and attempt to bring change.
