Why join ASIS&T-ESC? • Network with European students of information science and related disciplines, • Strengthen connections and networking opportunities with ASIS&T students throughout the world, • Build an infrastructure for student exchange/internships within Europe, at information research institutions and libraries, archives, museums, etc. • Publish student essays on the ASIS&T EC Web site or an ASIS&T EC repository,

  6. 1. Establish the chapter's Web site, within the existing ASIS&T EC Web site 2.Start/maintain mailing lists 3. Promote the student chapter at conferences 4. Send invitations to non-members to join 5. Seek to replace inactive country student representatives with people who want to do something in the chapter 6. Consider arranging a reduced ASIS&T membership fee for students from poorer countries 7. Subject to funding, arrange a student paper contest that allows the winner to attend the annual ASIS&T meeting (open to members only) 8. Start collecting and publishing possibilities for internships and exchanging students at information institutions 9. Seek to organize meetings between officers and between country representatives 10. Encourage students to self archive their essays in E-LIS open archive (http://eprints.rclis.org/) Activities 2005/06
