CPE manager

Allows for easy configuration of CPEs

Software upgrade, Database backup and restore, connecting to the management Web UI

CPE manager is enabled by default on Zhone CPEs

ETHX3xxx series, ZNID 42xx series

No additional address space in existing management network is needed

Uses port address translation (PAT), all private addresses are automatically assigned

Uses VLAN 7 and IP range 1.0.0.0/8 by default

To set up CPE manager

First, the manager needs to be enabled via CLI

This step is only required once per MXK system

CPE Manager’s public address is the same as the management address of the MXK

This will use the default VLAN 7 and IP address range 1.0.0.0/8

Synchronize the MXK with ZMS, right-click the unit and select Synchronize with device

  • zSH> cpe-mgradd public 192.168.240.38
  • zSH> cpe-mgraddlocalnetwork 1.0.0.0
