  1. So here are steps for Creating a Venetian Plaster Finish: • Step 1 • Items you will need include a 10cm flexible steel trowel, 100 grit, and 400-600 grit sandpaper, deep paint tray, Venetian plaster, and optional Venetian plaster Topcoat. • 2nd step • Begin the project by rounding the corners of a flexible steel trowel with the 100 grit sandpaper to reduce edge marks during application. • Step 3 • Fill your trowel with Venetian plaster and start at one of the top corners of your wall. Holding the steel trowel at a 15 to 30 degree angle spread a thin layer of Venetian plaster over the surface with long and small random strokes. The original wall surface should be visible in some places.

  2. TIP: Wipe your steel trowel often to prevent dry pieces of Venetian plaster from adversely affecting your pattern. Step 4 Continue this process until the entire surface of the wall is covered. Let the first coat dry for 4 hours before applying a second coat. Step 5 Start again at the point of origin (top corner) of your wall and apply a second thin coat of plaster over the first coat. Hold the steel trowel at a 30 60 degree angles and make long and short, layered strokes to achieve an uneven appearance over the first finish. TIP: Fill in voids and recessed areas while completely covering the original surface. Soften any marks left with a trowel. Step 6 Continue this process until the entire surface is covered. TIP: Note: Contact Painting Contractor if you are not professional.
