  5. How is equine assisted learning unique? • The horses are the teachers/therapists/coaches • Based on herd dynamics and flight instinct • Non-judgemental feedback • The facilitators guide, rather than direct the learning

  8. “Team Family” Aim: To collaborate with mainstream family interventions by providing a non-judgemental, innovative learning experience for parents to recognise impact they have on the family develop confidence to make the desired changes to improve quality of family life.

  10. “Team Family”: Assessment • Facilitator guided activities • Portfolio of evidence: • Reflections • Observations • Photos • Feedback forms

  11. “Team Family”: Delivery • 6 x 2 hour sessions minimum • Small groups • Engagement of parents • Practical support • Cooperation with other agencies • Incorporate other family members

  12. Foundation for change Learning outcomes break cycle of: • Anti-social behaviour • Disengagement from education • Poor parenting • Dysfunctional relationships
