  2. Oral assessment - Standardizing Administration • Exam info. & Procedures sent a week before • Administrative details specified on both documents: roles, responsibilities, guidelines. • Also discussed during the standardization session. • Video recording

Oral Assessment: Standardizing Grading • 2 assessors: Male-female Native-nonnative Experienced-inexperienced • Assessing unfamiliar students • Standardization session on the day or a day before the assessment - going over criteria, discussion of the grades & justification of the grade • Benchmarking videos available before the standardization session • Third grading if necessary after the exam.

  4. Writing Exams: • Exam info & procedures for Ts • ID numbers only • Standardization session before grading: - going over the criteria; - going over expectations; - grade about 3 papers together. • Double marking & third grading when there is discrepancy. • Standardization papers archived for benchmarking.

  5. Exams: • Key annotation by assessor before marking starts • Group marks together in the same room • Possible answers put on WB during 1st grading • Team goes over possible answers and second grades papers with the edited answer keys.
