  2. Purpose Questions! • Why do we use a period? • Give two reasons to use commas. • What are quotation marks? • Why do you use an exclamation mark? • Why do we have spaces between our words when writing?

  3. The answers to purpose question!! • We use periods in our writing so we know when to stop. • We use commas for listing. We also use commas within closing quotation marks. • We use quotation marks when someone is talking. We put quotation marks around what they are saying. • We use exclamation marks when someone has a strong feeling. • We use spaces between our words to divided our words.

  4. Is punctuation important? • I think punctuation is important because without it our writing would be really confusing. No one would know what it was about because it would be too confusing to read and write.
