Methods measurement period and data sources
Methods: Measurement period and data sources

  • Targets

    • Period: October 2011-September 2012 (annual)

    • Data sources: COP, SAPR

    • Sex and age disaggregation included when available

  • Achievements

    • Period: October 2011-June 2012 (goal: 75% of target met)

    • Data source: URS

    • Sex and age disaggregation included when applicable

Methods indicators
Methods: Indicators

  • Selected 12 NGI indicators included in COP in most countries (Mozambique reports 11/12 indicators)

  • Span multiple programmatic areas

  • 11 indicators have numeric targets (e.g. # of pregnant women with known HIV status in PMTCT setting)

    • Calculate % target achieved

    • Numerator=Achievement / Denominator=Target

  • 1 indicator has % target (i.e. % of ART patients known to be alive and on treatment at 12 months)

    • Assess whether target exceeded, achieved or not achieved

    • Compare % retained in last reporting quarter to target

1 number of pregnant women with known hiv status in pmtct setting by quarter

Challenges
Challenges

  • Discrepancies in targets included in COP and SAPR

    • New on ART

    • Current on ART

  • Discrepancies between data maintained in-country and URS

    • HTC services, infant testing, and TB treatment

  • USG sets targets for indicators that cannot be reported on using existing national systems

    • CTX prophylaxis and TB screening among current patients in HIV care
