POLAR BEARS. Alexis Delaney. Polar bears facts. Polar Bears have thick fur that keeps them warm in the winter. Also polar bears are the largest of all. Warmer days they lay down on ice. They can swim as far as 60 miles. They can also be underwater for as long as 2 minutes strait.

  2. Polar bears facts • Polar Bears have thick fur that keeps them warm in the winter. • Also polar bears are the largest of all. • Warmer days they lay down on ice. • They can swim as far as 60 miles. • They can also be underwater for as long as 2 minutes strait.

  3. Polar bear habits • Eat seal pups • When winter comes polar bears gather together,waiting for the ice to become strong enough to walk on

  4. HOW THEY LIVE • They don’t hibernate • But the polar bears metabolism which is inside their stomach • So the polar bear dosen’t use as much energy as usaul

  5. WHAT THEY DO AND EAT • Spring time polar bears eat birds, eggs, grass,berries • Cubs eat seaweed and berries • Polar bears can smell seals from half a mile away

  6. Cubs • They leave their mom 2 ½ years old • Rough paws get a good grip on the ice

  7. Shelter • When the weather turns bad digs a shelter in the snow • Polar bears live in the artic • Winter polar bears get together to wait intill ice is strong to walk on • They can live in dens in times of harsh weather

  8. WHEN THEY GROW UP • Polar bears have fun while waiting • Like play fighting • Wait for ice to freeze so can walk on
