    Why this was done

To address the need to query and retrieve recipient email address details and to enter more text to accompany attachments

    What was done

This allows you to query recipient email addresses, Cc recipients and enter up to 5,000 characters of body text

P/O – Print Original Purchase Qty

P/O document format includes option to value order based on different quantities

Sequence data by Supplier, Stock Code or Catalogue number in

Supplier / Stock Code Cross Reference program.

P/O Receipts – Date of Posting

P/O receipts reflect date of actual posting instead of the session start date

    • What was done

    • The Purchase Order Receipts program now ensures that the date and time reflected against each transaction is based on the date of the actual posting, instead of the date at which the session started.

    • The current system date is used for the journal start date and the

    • inventory movement date under the following conditions:

      • The operator option: 'Set accounting date to system date' is selected for the operator

      • The operator has not manually changed the transaction date when running the Purchase Order Receipt program.

    • Within the Inventory Query program, the Date column of the Stock Movements list view indicates the calendar date of the movement, instead of the start date of the session.

    Why this was done

Purchase order receipts need to be identified by the date of the transaction instead of the date when the program was loaded.

This has particular relevance to a 24/7 environment where the processing of a

    transaction could span two days.

Allow unit quantity processing with traceable and batch serialized items

    Inventory – Unit Qty Processing

    What was done

You can now apply unit quantity processing for lot traceable and / or batch serialized items.

Note: This is not available for manual serialized items as the quantity processed is always one.

    Why this was done

The unit quantity processing feature that is available for stocked items is

particularly useful in the food industry where goods are handled as both single items and boxes of items.

Because the food industry also makes considerable use of lots, the unit quantity processing facility has been extended to traceable items.

    • Why Do We Forecast?

      • Because It’s a Starting Point!

    • Why Use Profile Forecasting?

      • The Rationale is:

The recent past is the best indicator of the near future.

    • How far into the future should you project the forecast?

      • Longest cumulative lead time of the production process.

    Overview (Contd.)

    • Forecast Accuracy Depends on:

      • Accurate Sales / Usage History

      • Use of appropriate Formula for calculation

      • Length of forecast

    Mean Absolute Deviation

    • MAD filtering adjusts data points that fall outside set parameters.

    • 1 Standard Deviation equals 1.25 times the MAD.

    • A MAD of 2 covers 95% of a normal distribution curve.

    • MAD = |Ai - Fi| n

    Mean Absolute Deviation

    • Forecasting Multiplies the MAD figure by the system parameter value.

    • This is added to, or Subtracted from the Data’s Mean.

    • This gives an Upper and Lower data limit.

    • Forecasting normalises any data that falls outside these limits.

    28 Months History & MAD = 2

    % Error Calculation

    • SYSPRO decides which of the formulas to use, by calculating the error % between the formulas calculation and actual usage.

    • This is done over a user defined range of months.

    • The screen entry “Number of Months to Simulate” controls this range.

    % Error Calculation

    • Forecasting starts back in time, the number of months selected.

    • All formulas forecast from that point onwards.

    • The resulting forecast values are compared with the actual usage.

    • The error, month by month is calculated.

    % Error Calculation

    • After error is calculated for all months being Simulated.

    • The accumulated error is divided by the number of months used.

    • Work centre and productive unit capacity calendar

    BOM – Copy Capacity Calendar

    What was done

    Copy function added

    to Capacity Calendar

    Why this was done

    Saves manual capture

    & reduces operator

    error when work

    centers have the

    same capacity

    BOM – Allow Progressive Scrap

    Why this was done

When the amount of scrap is known for each parent part on each operation it is easier to record and trackscrap at parent part level than trying to account for it at a material level.

By allowing the capture of a scrap percentage or qty, Progressive Scrap allows better control for each operation.

    BOM – Costing Query / What-If

    What was done

The window title of the BOM Costing Query program now indicates whether you are viewing BOM costs or What-if costs.

    BOM – Allow Fixed Quantity

    Why this was done

Some industries require the ability to define a material allocation that has a fixed quantity per regardless of the number of parent parts that will be manufactured, or a fixed quantity per related to a specific number of parent parts that will be made.

    BOM – Replace Where Used

    Advance Trial Kitting

The Advanced Trial Kitting (ATK) program provides an alternative to running the Material Requirements calculation from within the Requirements Planning system.

ATK – Due / Delivery Date

Whilst based on the Multi-Level Trial Kitting program, it is very important to note that the Advanced Trial Kitting program is date sensitive and takes the delivery /due date into consideration when calculating the gross requirements and the sources of supply and demand.

This means that any possible sources of supply or demand that do not fall within the selected time frameare excluded from the calculations.

    ATK – Alternate to MRP

    Why this was done

The Advanced Trial Kitting program provides an alternative to running the Requirements Planning Master ProductionSchedule program.

It achieves this by emulating the manual method used by a company to build a finished item.

    ATK – Options

    Selecting either or both

    these options means you

will be running a “What if”

    calculation using the structure

    to establish what is required

    to satisfy the demand from

    the entered quantity to make

The options selected here determine what options are available on the other tabs.

Selecting any or all of these options means you will be running a mini-MRP calculationto determine what is required to satisfy the demand by the relevant delivery/due date.

    ATK - Preferences

The Preferences are used to configure the default sources of supply/demand that must

apply when running the Advanced Trial Kitting program.

These preferences may be saved per operator.

The selections made here determine the origin of the information included in calculating the supply and demand.

Allow hierarchical jobs to use the WIP G/L code of the hierarchy

    WIP – Hierarchical Jobs / WIP G/L

    What was done

Previously WIP costs could only be distributed per job.

You can now enter a G/L code against a hierarchy which enables detailed costing at head / section level.

    WIP – Kit Issue

    WIP – Archive Jobs

    What was done

Allow unlimited number of jobs to be archived in one archive file.

    WIP – Define Variance - $ or %

    What was done

A new setup option allows you to define whether the amount that can be posted automatically to the WIP variance account is an absolute value, or calculated as a percentage of the total expected cost of the quantity being receipted in.

    Why this was done

WIP variance amount used to be $ 999.99 and now it is 13 digits. This change removes the previous limitation.

    WIP – Browse on Jobs

    Why this was done

Requirement to initially view master job then query attached sub jobs
