Martin Folse is a determined individual who found a passion for filming, writing and directing at a very young age. At age 11, he raised monies to purchase his first silent film camera. Once he knew what he wanted to do, he began to focus on how he wanted to do it. He started by archiving film of his family. Later, he received a proper education in broadcast journalism from Nicholls State University. He would continue to develop his coverage skills as he experimented with creating documentaries and volunteering to cover events whenever he could.
