The Lord Saves Those Who Trust In Him – v. 1-3 • The virtue of waiting patiently for the Lord • God Cares- v.1- 1 Peter 5:7 “He cares for you” • Matthew 6:25-33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” • God Hears – v.1 – John 9:31 “if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hear him.”

The Lord Saves Those Who Trust In Him – v. 1-3 • God Saves – v.2 – Titus 3:3-7 “kindness and the love of God” • God Establishes - v.2- Proverbs 4:19-27 “ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.” • God gives Reason to Praise Him – v.3 – “He has put a new song in my mouth- Praise to our God” • Others Will Take Note- v.3 – “Many will see it and fear”

The Lord Blesses Those Who Trust In Him – v. 4,5 • “Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust” • Proud & Deceitful Rejected- v.4 - Psalm 15:4; Proverbs 8:13 “fear of the Lord is to hate… Pride and arrogance” • Works of God, (Blessings) are Innumerable – v.5 – Matthew 5:12 “Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven” Ephesians 1:3-11 “every spiritual blessing”

Those Who Trust The Lord Obey – v. 6-8 • “I delight to do your will, O my God” • Prophetic Psalm Applied to Jesus - v.6 - Hebrews 10:5-12 “I have come to do Your will, O God” • Sacrifices Did Not Satisfy God – v.6 – 1 Samuel 15:22 “to obey is better than sacrifice”; Matthew 9:13 “I desire mercy and not sacrifice” • Jesus Fulfilled The Will Of The Father – John 4:34 “do the will of Him who sent Me”; 17:4 “I have finished the work which You have given Me to do”

Those Who Trust God Tell Others – v. 9,10 • “I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O LORD, You Yourself know. 10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth From the great assembly.” • Have we proclaimed & declared the Word of God? • Like Peter & John – Acts 4:19 • Like those scattered from Jerusalem – Acts 8:4 • Like Thessalonica – 1 Thessalonians 1:8

  7. Those Who Trust God Recognize Their Need For Mercy – v. 11,12 • “Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me” • God’s Loving-kindness extended through His Truth Preserves – v. 11 – John 17:17 “Your word is truth” 1Peter 1:22,23 “purified your souls in obeying the truth” • Preserves in the midst of evil - v.12 – Psalms 119:42 “For I trust in Your word” ; 1 John 1:5-10 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Those Who Trust God Will Be Delivered – v. 13-15 • “Be please O Lord to deliver me” • The one who trusts in the Lord will have enemies – V.14 – Matthew 5:11,12 “reviles and persecute you”; 2 Timothy 3:12 “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” • Let them be ashamed, driven backward, confounded - v. 14,15 – Acts 6:10 “not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke”; Acts 9:4-6 “Who are You, Lord?”; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire”

Those Who Trust God Will Be Delivered – v. 13-15 • Those who trust God will seek Him & Find Help – v.16,17 – Psalm 40:16,17 • Proverbs 2:1-9 “find the knowledge of God, For the LORD gives wisdom… He is a shield to those who walk uprightly” • Matthew 5:6 “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness” • Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
