As a new borrower at Harper College, you will be required to complete an Entrance Interview. Submit your Satisfactory Academic Progress appeal online.Federal and state regulations require that Harper College establish and implement a policy to measure the academic progress of degree-seeking students who are applying for financial assistance. Students receiving any federal, state and/or institutional funds (to include Veterans' benefits, except where indicated) must meet the following minimum standards of academic progress in order to be considered eligible for financial assistance:1. Program of Study or Educational Objective:A student must be enrolled in a program of study leading to an associate degree or a certificate (greater than 16 credit hours) at Harper College.2. Grade Point Average (GPA) Requirement:A student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher to be eligible for continued financial assistance.3. Course Completion Rate:A new, continuing, or transfer student must complete 67 percent of the courses attempted throughout his/her entire enrollment at Harper College and comply with the Standards for Academic Achievement outlined in the Harper College catalog to remain eligible for financial assistance.

GrantsFederal Pell Grant The Federal Pell Grant is available to students who are enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program (at least 16 credit hours in length).  Students may also receive the Federal Pell Grant for up to 30 credit hours of English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Students must demonstrate financial need by applying for aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards range from $400 to $4,050 per year. In order to receive a Federal Pell Grant students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.
