  2. Plato:] Plato believes, one must study the five mathematical disciplines, namely arithmetic, plane geometry, solid geometry, astronomy, and harmonics. After mastering mathematics, then one can proceed to the study of philosophy. Plato was born around 429 BC and he died in 347 BC..!

  3. 1st step • Move the decimal place to the right or left so that the number is between one and ten.

  4. 2nd step • Multiply this number by the power of ten that will make the product equal to the original number

  5. Example: • For example, to convert 75,000 to scientific notation: • Step 1) 75,000 Y 7.5 • The decimal place is moved so that we get 7.5. • Step 2) 7.5 × 10000 = 75000 • Since , the answer is 7.5 × 1041010101010 10000=×××=4. • To convert 0.00075 to scientific notation: • Step 1) 0.00075 Y 7.5 • The decimal place is moved so that we get 7.5. • Step 2) 7.5 ×100001 = 0.00075 • 101010101100001×××== 10-4, so the answer is 7.5 × 10-4
