Task for Today • Today we want to understand: • What social and cultural life was like in Nazi Germany. • The shape of panoptic control in Nazi Germany. • How Nazi Germany was similar to and different from other totalitarian regimes studied. • We will achieve this through two tasks: • Task One: Evaluate/Analyze (30 minutes) • Break up into small groups and read a source on Nazi Germany in light of a specific theme • Take notes on your observations and discussions on the chart • Task Two: Analyze/Synthesize (30 minutes) • Re-Form into new small groups to… • Discuss the following question: How does panopticism operate in Nazi Germany? Your answer must make reference to two themes and must show one similarity and one difference to other totalitarian regimes studied. • In the course of your conversation you should talk about your theme and enlighten your group on what you discovered (take notes on chart!)
