Lunches come prepared and are served by volunteers.  Volunteers Needed – 2 volunteers are needed for each of the following Fridays: July 18, July 25 and August 1.  Time:  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A total of 6 volunteers are needed.  Please let me know who will be able to volunteer. Thanks, Doris Barnes In order to streamline club administration, we will begin billing members for dues in advance on a quarterly basis beginning with the new fiscal year beginning October 1st, 2008. The statements mailed out on September 30th will reflect the balance due from each member for the months of October, November and December 2008. All members are encouraged to pay their quarterly dues when presented. We understand that some members will prefer to pay on a monthly basis. Payments will be deducted from members' account balances when received. The treasurer will only issue statements for the coming quarter at the beginning of each quarter. We will also offer members the option of receiving their dues statements and other bills by email. If you would like to begin receiving your club bills by email and stop receiving them in the mail, please contact either Ralph Marcello or Jay Ambler. Jay President of UNF Circle K, Lhan Phan Walt Pfeil telling his weekly joke. President Neil Powell(back) waiting for the punch line. Photos by Butch Shadwell What is Circle K? Circle K is a co-educational service, leadership development, and friendship organization, organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. It is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, determines its own service activities, and establishes its own dues structure. Its Objects include the Objects of Kiwanis. Once organized, a Circle K club continues to be sponsored by a Kiwanis club. Although the ultimate responsibility for Circle is that of the Kiwanis Board of Directors, the sponsorship function is most directly carried out by the Kiwanis club Committee on Circle K Clubs, assisted by a faculty advisor (who may or may not be a Kiwanian) designated by the college or university administration. Dear Friends, George Langguth, our Executive Director has asked for help on Wednesday, August 20th, before the State Convention (around 12 noon) to unload the truck with all the Kiwanis equipment. If you want to help or can recruit others to help in some way, send an email to George@floridakiwanis.com and volunteer. Please send me a copy so we know who has volunteered from our club. Also he is looking for special people to help with audio visual equipment. Major time and dedication required for this job. Cheers, Jim Lee
