Why do we are starting with a course on EBM? • Will make you a better critical thinker • Will equip you with the skills of life-long learning • how to access and critically appraiseliteratures • Introduce the concept of evidence-based clinical practice • Paradigm shift (a change in the basic assumptions)

The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. 10. لاني احس ان مدينتي (مكه المكرمه) فيها ثروة كبيره وغنيه في البحث لا احد يستثمرها خاصة في مواسم الحج. • ان اشرف على الاجيال القادمه وافيدهم بما سوف يكون لدي من خبرات. • ان يتوسع حيز النادي ويصبح مركز البحث الطبي بمدينة مكه المكرمه بدلا من كونه مستقلا لكلية الطب بالجامعه • احلم ان امثل النادي في مؤتمرات عالميه وباسم كليتي و نادي البحث احمد مرزا

11. العمل مع أعضاء النادي على تأصيل مفهوم البحث العلمي في الكليات الطبيةٌ بجامعة القرى . • سبق أن عملت SPSS أ ستطيع مساعدة أعضاء النادي من خلال خبرت المتواضعة في البرنامج الأحصائي في أكثر من مناسبة سابقة خالد الجهني

12. الهدف الأول هوا أن اثبت لنفسي مقدرتي صعود أعلى جبل لا يمكن حتى لمخيلتي رسم قمته • الهدف الثاني هوا أني أؤمن أن الكلية والمجتمع قدما لي كل شيء على طبق من ذهب ومن حمد النعمة وشكرها أن أسعى لتقديم الأفضل للكلية والمجتمع وهذا واجب يتحتم علي كطبيب أن أؤمن به واعمل من اجله حتى أصبح طبيب أفضل وأؤمن أن البحوث العلمية هي أفضل طريقة لشكر المجتمع على ما قدمه لي وأفضل طريقة للرقي به ومزاحمة الأمم على التقدم والرقي . • أريد تقديم كل ما يمكنني من طاقة وجهد ووقت ومسؤولية والتزام وتفكير وإبداع أستطيع تقديمه من اجل إنتاج وإخراج عمل بحثي احترافي يرقى لأهداف ومعايير النادي وأهدافي وطموحاتي في نفس الوقت رائف محمد ناصر

13. أنا سأبذل كل ما أستطيع في أي بحث أشارك به ، ولقد كونت خبرة ممتازة في برنامج الـ SPSS ، بالإضافة لعمل الاستبيانات وترتيبها لتصبح قابلة لإدخالها في البرنامج • أستطيع صياغة الأسئلة بشكل جيد فلقد عملت على أكثر من استبيان ولاقت استحسان الدكاترة الذين رأوها من ناحية شمولية الأسئلة وتوزيع النقاط ، ولدي خبرة ممتازة في اللغة العربية والنحو وتعديل الأخطاء الإملائية محمد رواس

16. إيمانا مني بقوله تعالى ( إن الله لا يغير ما بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم ) فقد قررت المشاركة في كل مايثري خبراتي ويعود على مجتمعي بالخير الكثير والفضل العظيم . • أريد أن أكون من الرائدين في البحث العلمي لأهميته في رفعة أي مجتمع في العالم .. في البداية التطبيق سيكون على مستوى الجامعة ثم المنطقة فالدولة فالعالم أجمع اسراء بخاري

17. أن يكون في جامعة أم القرى مصدر موثوق للمعلومات والبحوث الطبية المختلفة • القدرة على التعامل مع كافة العقليات والسيناريوهات المختلفة في الحياة • القدرة على إيصال أفكاري بطريقه واضحة • إقامة لجنة لحل مشاكل البحوث • أن نقوم بتأليف كتاب عن البحوث الطبية باسم النادي بجامعة أم القرى • نشر الأبحاث على مستوى العالم بحيث يكون بطريقتين: • الأولى بطريقة علمية لشريحة الأطباء والعلماء • الثانية بطريقة سهلة واضحة لشريحة الفرد العادي ايلاف المتروك

18. ان أرتقي بجامعتي ومدينتي مكة المكرمة وأثبت لنفسي وللجميع بأننا أفضل طلاب وطالبات طب (طلاب وطالبات نشئوا وترعرعوا في بقعة طاهرة ) • أن يكون لي القدرة في المستقبل بان يكون لي أبحاث متميزة بأسلوبها وطرحها ومحتواها . • لاأريد أن أقدم أفكارا فقط , فالأفكار ستأتي دائما مع الوقت ولكن أريد أن أقدم شيئا ملموسا , أريد أن أبين للجميع بأنه وإن كان عددنا قليلا (20 طالبة) فإنه بإمكانهم تغيير الكثير جدا وأن السر ليس في العدد إنما في اتحادنا وجمع أفكارنا و وضعها في قالب واحد لجين سالم عمر بابكير

19. قد وضعت نصب عينيّ أن أقدّم محاضرات قصيرة عن مبادئ البحث العلمي و أهميته لطلاب الطب قبل أن تنقضي سنوات دراستي في كلية الطب. • كما أرغب في أن تكون لي مشاركة فاعلة في رفع جودة ما يعرف بالطب المبني على البراهين evidence based medicine و الذي يعتمد في مجمله على إقامة الأبحاث. • أريد أن تكون قاعدة إجراء الدراسات البحثية لديّ أكثر قوة و أكثر قدرة على شقّ طريق منافسة بقية الجامعات ليس على مستوى المملكة و حسب و إنما على المستوى الإقليمي و العالمي مستقبلًا بإذن الله. يارا الحربي

I really do have an interest in medical research & I believe that such innovative environment can fruitfully help me as a future physician to transform theoretical knowledge into highly effective scientific projects that serves our communities by providing practical solutions that is scientifically evidenced. 21. Source of knowledge • Most of what you and I know is a matter of agreement of belief. Little of it is based on personal experience & discovery. • Growing in a society made us believe &accept what other people around us knows “certain things. (Traditions). • Most of what we know is believing what others have been told us (traditions, expert opinions).

22. Through experience • we can also know things through experience & observations. • If our experience conflicts with what everyone else agree there is a chance we will surrender our experience in favors of the experience • Is worm really bad or good to eat ?

What is real • Something that you know might be not true • But can you really know what is real ? • Scientist have a certain criteria that must be met in order to accept reality of something that they personally never experienced. • Must be logical & with evidence. • So scientist do accept the reality of things they did not personally experience but with specific standards. • Agreement reality can hinders our attempt to find our more. (traditions, authority, overgeneralizations, wrong observations). • Put us off in the wrong directions.

24. people see things differently • Some people can only pay attention to specific kind of information but overlook others. • Different people can construct different interpretations of any given events

In conclusion • Its all about assumption, theory & observation. • Stimulus & observations can lead to more than onepossible constructions of theory • People often see the world in a unique way and many may arrive at different conclusions about what they have seen or heard. i.e. several people witness same events often interrupt it & memorize in a different way.

35. What is research? • Research is a systematic investigation designed to discover or contribute to a body of generalisable knowledge.

36. Why Research • No. of medical journals increased >7 times over last 5 years! • Today > 20,000 biomedical journals! • Rate 1 new article / 26 seconds • To keep up to date in Internal Medicine, I need to read 17 articles a day, 365 days a year

37. In 30 years more people worldwide will be graduating • Technology and its transformation effect on work, huge explosion of population. • Suddenly degree will not worth anything • Few years ago if you have a degree you have a job • Now a lot of people with degree but no jobs • Now you need a master degree and a Ph.D. to get a descent job
