Archaic Era • 5,500 B.C. to 700 A.D. • Since all giant animals became extinct, people began hunting small animals, such as buffalo & deer
Archaic Era • Men hunted with better weapons like the Atlatl • Women gathered food like seeds & berries
Did You Know? • Archaeologists found the remains of a man from the Archaic Era in 1829. They found it in Abilene, Texas and named it ABILENE MAN.
Late Prehistoric Era • 700 A.D. to 1500 A.D. • People began using the land for farming corn • The bow & arrow was invented
