  3. …In the Beginning • Our first “live” RealAudio Webcast was the Princeton vs. College of New Jersey men’s basketball game on January 26, 1998 (W 59-50). • Our first “live” RealVideo Webcast was MathChat on February 2, 1998. An Overview of the Princeton University Web

  4. Growth • Windows Media format was added January 2000 • QuickTime Capability went into production November 2000 • WebMedia uses 18 encoders and 5 servers to meet live and on-demand streaming media requests. • 1 TB of storage is currently configured. An Overview of the Princeton University Web

Growth (cont.) • We can handle 3 concurrent live video events in both RealVideo and Windows Media Formats. • We can handle 4 concurrent live audio events in both RealMedia and Windows Media Formats. • We are licensed for 600 concurrent RealMedia streams, unlimited Windows Media and unlimited QuickTime streams. Growth (cont.) • We have just purchased the Virage VideoLogger/AudioLogger application and Control Center. • The Virage applications perform speech to text transcription, face recognition, speech recognition and indexing of all spoken words and screen text and scheduling of encoding.
